Thanks...
It does look like it could be P.azureus from other images I've seen, although the flesh isn't particularly blue and the areoles are hairy.

A sixth id... Pilosocereus?
Hi all...
I think this one is a Pilosocereus. (Pilocereus).
Currently in a 2" dia pot and is approx 3" tall. It has six ribs.
Could it be azurecens or pachycadus?

Re: I have lost my Cereus peruvianus mostruosus
Being indoors, it is difficult to keep them below 50°f / 10°c but I am wondering if they should be moved from a window during the dormant period so they do not get direct sun when it shines, then move them back to the sunny window in the spring. If they are in strong light and above 10deg C, they w...

I have lost my Cereus peruvianus mostruosus
I have lost my Cereus peruvianus mostruosus  I repotted the plant as it had outgrown its pot last August into Lorbex cactus compost, (a mix Of Loam And Peat, With Added High Grade Horticultural Grit), however I didn't remove the old soil from the roots. I repotted three others at the same time....

Your message contains too few characters.
Keep getting the above error when posting in the identification forum even though the post has more characters in it than posted here?
Any ideas?
EDIT: finally managed to post, but I can't edit for a correction now? I get the same error ... Your message contains too few characters.
Very strange

A fifth ID ... castle cacti?
Hi again. Here it the fifth addition to my cacti collection. Currently 2" tall in a 2" pot. The majority of the branches have five ribs, some have four. IMG_1018.JPG I have seen some pictures that suggest it could be Cereus tetragonus but the pictures of c. tetragonus on cactiguide are not...

A fourth id....?
Hi all.
Here is the fourth of my cacti.
About 3 1/2" tall in a 3" pot.
5 ribs in a tight helical form at the crown.
Any suggestions as a starting point greatly appreciated.

Re: A third ID... ?
Thanks for the suggestion of Parodia. Having now looked at many images of Parodia's I'm thinking this specimen definitely could be one. P. neoarechavaletae is close but all the images I have viewed don't appear to have helical ribs and the crowns have a mass of upright spines, although of the correc...

A third ID... ?
Hi all. Here is the third of my cacti... With this one I don't know where to start. Again it is in a 3" dia pot which gives an idea of its current size. Globular in shape with helical ribs. Long single central spines. IMG_0107.JPG IMG_0141.JPG Any help with a starting point for further investig...

Re: Second ID... Mammillaria?
Thanks for the flower info Grimm.
I only ever saw one purple flower open, though there were about four buds.
Is this correctly identified as M.backebergiana ?
The flowers have now gone but pods have grown. Since the picture below, three more pods have appeared.

Re: First ID... Cereus?
Thanks for the further info Teo.
There is conflicting info across the net regarding its requirements... but the consensus is it is slow growing... typically 3" per year when grown indoors.
That seems rather fast to me although probably refers to optimum conditions.

Re: First ID... Cereus?

Re: Hi to all
Thanks for the welcome messages.
Since registering I think I have identified at least two of the specimens I currently have.
I'll post in the ID section for confirmation soon.
