I think it's an furcraea foetida agave that has been trimmed, hence the trunk, which doesn't occur naturally. Definitely an agave, because the leaves look fleshy and has jagged edges.

Re: Is this a type of agave?

Nevermind! I think I found it! I think these are agave vilmoriniana (octopus agave)! I didn't think so at first, because the adults look very different, but when looking at pictures of pups, they are identical to mine

Is this a type of agave?

I got these as freebies from my local cactus club, and I have no idea what they are. My guess is some kind of agave?

Re: Ants and small tan bugs that aren't mealybugs

Yes these are most probably springtails. Annoying little things. However, they are harmless to plants. If you want to get rid of them. Let your pots go bone dry for a week I'm relieved to hear! Ants and small tan bugs that aren't mealybugs

I have seen these small and quick tannish white bugs every where outside. On pots, crawling on succulent leaves, in gravel, porch walls, basically everywhere. Anybody know what insect I'm talking about? They don't seem to be harmful and I can't find anything about them being pests. They are definite...

Front Yard project ideas

My dad and I are planning on having a cacti/succulent garden in the frontyard. We don't live in the typical suburban area (places with lots of trees, green grass, small front yards). Where we live, the front yard is very bare and open. Right now it's covered in dried up and dead weeds. There is tons...
