Re: This falls under etc.-Root hormone
Hello there! How about trying some crushed aspirin, since salicylic acid is what the above mentioned plant contains to promote root growth? I haven't tried it though, but I clearly remember florists used to dissolve aspirin in water for cut flowers. I am not sure it would work, I may try this myself...

What a relief, thank you very much Elie! I will follow your advice and it's actually easy to find cypress tree soil here also! Much appreciated!

Which topsoil should I find and use?
Hello and thank you for reading. I am gathering the necessary ingredients for a custom soil mix to pot my cacti, as most of them are still in their nursery peat soil (albeit bone dry). I have pumice, perlite, coarse sand, and some bags of commercial cactus soil mix. Next is the lava rocks and the to...

Re: Greetings from Greece~~~
It would be great to share your collection with us in a member topic :D I will, but I admit I am a bit ashamed, all my cacti and succulents are just starters, and seeing all the collections in the forum I got very collection conscious. I guess I have to take a deep breath and just do it. :)

Re: Growth Over Time - Wisteria
Thank you for your suggestion, I like this plant very much, although it sometimes is considered invasive (I've read people had a very hard time getting it out of their garden, it always grew back!), but its beauty is visible!

Re: Growth Over Time - Wisteria
What a beautiful, vigorous plant this is! Is it the Chinese wisteria or the frutescens one?
I am thinking of planting one in a huge terracotta barrel type pot I have, but by seeing how huge it gets I'm afraid it would break the pot with its roots!

Re: Greetings from Greece~~~
Thank you very much @gemhunter178 and @ElieEstaphane! So nice of you to reassure me Elie! I do love our weather (well, except the days we are boiling in our skin in the summer, lol, but there is always the sea!). I am anxious to see how they adjust in my balcony in the spring. I will take it slow an...

Re: Cutivating small growing tropical cacti
Hello and thanks for sharing! I love your cacti setting and displays! It seems very practical and efficient! What zone is Tucson Arizona, as I found your note on not growing cacti that need cold overwintering useful, I could follow that. But couldn't you leave them dry and overwinter them anyway, or...

Re: Best location for my collection
You have got such an impressive collection, way to go! Lots of happy cacti there!
Oh, such a relief to me to know that they can thrive even in our weather with the intense heat and
get acclimated to our Mediterranean scorch, lol.
Happy to be here and thank you for showing me your amazing cacti!

Greetings from Greece~~~
Hello everybody! I live in Greece and my name is Marina. Our zone is 9b according to the European hardiness zone. I have recently started my own collection of cacti and succulents which is steadily growing. I have gathered a lot of houseplants over the years, but I got obsessed with cacti and want t...

Re: Best location for my collection
Hello @ElieEstephane! I live in Greece, zone 9b, so Mediterranean climate also, and that is why I found this thread so interesting to me! I have the same questions about the sun exposure, as our nights are consistently very hot in the summer months and the sun could scorch them at day. Anyway, I hop...
