I can't seem to find how to upload photos here, years ago I had a photobucket account and it was easy to do from there, now with Facebook and Instagram I can upload the photos directly from the phone, any guidence on how to do it here will be appreciated Mike This might help: http://www.cactiguide....

Not platyacanthus, I agree with 7george that is a Ferocactus, possibly glauscences

The oldest ones are from 2015, plus other that are maybe 4 years old from a local grower

I just spoke with Planet Desert. The soil is currently 50% Peat and 50% Perlite. So yes it will need to be changes. But to what? Thanks I use 75% pumice and 25% compost and they do well in it, a couple of them have flowered for me, they stay in my greenhouse where temps can drop to 30f or lower in ...

I think you need some kind of additional heat for the gh, otherwise the temp will equalize inside and outside of it, maybe a heating pad like Steve suggested?

I had read that mammillarias are resistant to hybridization and that cross pollination results in the offspring most likely being the same as the parent plant from which the seed originated. It is possible, but if you are succesfull you will have hybrids, not true sanchez-mejoradae.

I've done something similar with good results, I just move the pot to a shadier area of the gh to slow the development of the buds
