Re: Fero ID
I agree with Alejandro that Your cactus looks like a F. herrerae. It resembles my cactus at home.

Re: Mealybugs maybe?
If those are meally bugs, use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to dab the meally bugs to kill them. Continue to keep them quarantined until you know they are all gone.
If that doesn't work, neem oil spray is another option.

Re: Whats going on with this Opuntia?
I agree with Harold.
My opuntias will do the same thing with the pads, but I do not consider it to be an issue since new pads will replace those that have dried up.

Re: Lighting for indoor cactus
I've never used the t5s, but I have been using t12's and t8's for many years with no issues. I only use them during the cold months when the cacti come in. The lights are lowered as close as possible and left on a timer for about 12 to 15 hours. The cacti are kept dry and I do not notice any Etiolat...

Re: What is this cactus suffering from?
The scabs on the cactus appear to be corking. This creates a barklike skin on the stems .usually this is on the lower old growth. Sometimes when you see it elsewhere it may have been an injury to the stem. It is usually only cosmetic and nothing to worry about. I don't see any issue in propagating y...

When you find a surprise seedling along with the plant you purchased, consider those lucky finds. Two for the price of one.

The flowering and growth charts you posted are what I was looking for. I was able to Google translate the charts.
There appears to be extra sections to both of the charts. Would you happen to have copies of those extra sections and/ or the title of the book?
Thank you

These tables are exactly what I am looking for. This will give me a better idea of when to expect blooms on the succulents. I will make adjustments for any discrepancies in the months for my area as needed.
Great website! and thanks again for the info

Thank you Davew for the name of the book.
I can tell by the inflated price this is going to be a great book.ha ha.
I am from Ohio and this will be a great reference book to give an idea when to expect blooms.
