Re: Solid Red Seedling???

I started Golden Barrels from seed. Had about 100 germinate. Grew for 3 months in baggies. I had one totally white. No chlorophyll. It grew for 3 more months., then it turned to mush. I have a picture somewhere. I will look for it. :)

Re: Astrophytum's

I bought a grafted Astrophytum Myriostigma. Being without a lot of knowledge for this cactus, do I water more often since it is grafted? Or water the same as my other non grafted Astro's. Thanks, Jim.

Re: Purging old/inactive members

Being a new member, I thank everyone who keeps this forum running. I can appreciate those whom have help identify cactus for others. I see it as passing on their knowledge. Every one at some point couldn't identify a cactus and asked for help. I do see posts with multiple request for id's. Sometimes...

Re: Yikes..Red worms

No, not an earthworm. It was the same color as the red flowers on the cactus. They were inside the base of the flower. They aren't on the cactus to pick off. About 1/4 inch long. Not anything that I have seen in Fla. Can I use any type of incecticide to take care of them? Or will it off the cactus. :?

Yikes..Red worms

Looking at dying flowers on a Chamaelobivia Rose Quartz yesterday. Opened the flower and found a red worm @1/4 inch where the seeds may appear. It was alive. I checked another flower and found another. Does any one know what this may be and how to rid my plant of live worms/caterpillar beside throwi...

Astrophytum's

I have been trying to research my new best friend, the Astrophytum. As a novice with this species I want to succeed without harming it. I read that they should be repotted every year. What say you? :D

Re: Hello from Sunny Florida

Yes, 100 cacti but these are small. The only place that I can find any cacti is Lowes and Home Depot. I wait till they get a new products from their supplier. Both stores seem to water them too much. I did go to B&B(Tucson) this summer and purchased several larger cacti. I would love to move to ...

Hello from Sunny Florida

Greetings to all. I started collecting cactus about 2 and 1/2 years ago. I started when my wife and myself went to El Paso to baby sit my teenage Grand daughter. I never cared about cactus until we made this trip. It seems most people had cactus in their yards and I didn't understand why. This chang...
