I find that high temps can really make a huge difference. A pot of Echinocactus ingens germinated in a week (!) when we got temps in teh low to mid 30's centigrade. That was last year, and now we have again temps around 32 - 35 and more of the seeds from last years sowing are germinating. BTW, no st...

I would have thought the blue ones are Myrtilocactus, but I warn you I have a zillion unidentified columnars, meaning I am no expert.

I have another Aeonium tabulinaforma that has not flowered. Do you thin if I cut the head off the stem it will produce shoots?

That's what I get for growing monocarps. One big fling and....
I'll try leaf cuttings as per the cactus-art page - thanks Spence. I tried that with a Rosularia libinotica and they just never took. Well, once more unto the breach dear friends...

My Aeonium tabuliniforma has styarted to fower and I fear that is it's death cry!!!

Well, the pseudo- Melo spines sure gor me. Of course the old "wait till it flowers" is always the bottom line.

I agree. Old genus name Dolicothele. I like it very much and the flowers have a nnice light fragrance.

:mrgreen: #1 looks like a Mammillaria from the apex, but I can't tell if it has ribs or tuberculate spirals.

#2 looks more like a Melocactus or Echinopsis to me. The stout spines and distinct ribs whisper "not a Parodia" to me.
