Re: Fungus, rot, or nothing to worry about?

Thank you so much! I treated it with a fungicide yesterday and then woke up to a beautiful flower this morning (picture below)! Could have been a coincidence in timing but I’m going to credit your excellent advice. Once it’s done blooming I will repot it and give it more space to grow!

Fungus, rot, or nothing to worry about?

Hello, I was gifted this prickly pear recently and I can’t tell if it is suffering from rot, fungus, or something else that I am unfamiliar with. The pot it has been growing in busted open and was duct taped back together, so I plan to repot it into something larger, but I want to figure out what I’...

Re: Scale on my cuttings?

Every mark I see on my plants I believe it is scale! I’m so paranoid! 8-[ I’m glad I asked before acting. Thank you for easing my fears! I will leave them alone.

Scale on my cuttings?

I have a few cuttings that I took off of an etiolated ghost plant. The one that has actually grown a few small bulbs and roots appears to be covered in, what I suspect to be, scale. If it was a fully grown plant I would normally treat with alcohol on a q-tip and tweezers. Is that too aggressive for ...

Decapitated - what next?

Hello, I rescued a lanky stemmed rosette from my mothers house recently. Not sure on the ID. Maybe a ghost plant? I’m not sure what to do next! It had become etiolated so she moved it to a brighter location. When I took it home, it was a perfectly formed baby rosette sitting on top of a 4 inch stem ...

Re: etiolating under LED grow lights?

I have more questions now! I ended up ordering a 600W Cob LED from Growstar and got it in the mail yesterday. To avoid mounting it and putting unnecessary holes in my apartment walls, we flipped an old dog kennel on its side and suspended the light from the top, 22 inches over my plants on the botto...

etiolating under LED grow lights?

Hello, I moved my plants in for the winter around October and put them in my living room under 40W dual head LED grow lights. They had started stretching out on my patio due to the horribly shaded position my apartment balcony is in. I slowly acclimated them to the lights and they seemed to be doing...

Re: Leaf cuttings.. what’s next?

Perfect. Thank you! That is what I needed to know. I was so worried I would wait too long or not long enough! I’ll keep a close eye on them but leave them be for now! I appreciate your help!

Leaf cuttings.. what’s next?

So I have these two little guys who fell off during the repotting of an unidentified plant about a month ago. One sprouted half inch roots with no leaves. And the other sprouted leaves but no roots! How long do I leave them alone before I have to do something with them? And if the little rosettes ne...

Some kind of echeveria

The closest ID I could make was maybe a echeveria agavoides romeo, but it seems a little pale for that. Can anyone confirm or have another ID suggestion??

Will it survive?

So this was my first cactus. I mistook the new growth fuzz for mealy bugs and maybe went a little crazy with the rubbing alcohol. Then I realized my mistake and let it be for a few months. It started to look like it wasn’t doing so well. The color was kind of dull and the cactus itself looked like i...

Re: Can I save my Ghost Plant?

It does drain pretty well. I’m in Las Vegas so it has been really hot and dry the past few months, over 100F degrees everyday. When I first got them I was only watering every 10 days or so and they were extremely thirsty, atleast, that’s what I was told in a previous posting. So I amped it up to onc...
