There from 2 different batches. The one in the picture has the best fissures. I have another one from that batch that has 1 or 2 deep fissure's. But the 2 have the smallest cortex's at this point. Because they grow so fast I like to put a timeline on them. This is one of my favorites because of the deep cuts in it. A lot deeper than the other ones.

Since mine started growing again I put them in a east facing window. There doing extremely well. Almost to good there attacking everything around them. LoL. It might have gotten to cold. I've bought cactus pads from the grocery store and tried to grow them just for fun. There kept in a cooler as well, they all had the same type of spots. I haven't had any success growing the pads but they were cheap. Hope you have better luck.

You have white roots witch is good. Put in well draining soil and let it dry out for a while.
