Re: Propagation of Nananthus seeds.
If you look closely, some of them have fallen over due to weak stems, which happens when you leave them in the baggie too long. I explained that in another thread about the same seedlings: http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=45278 It would be good to see how they're doing now. ...

Re: Propagation of Nananthus seeds.
Well done, looks like you are getting great results. Mesembs can seem very easy , quick and satisfying from seed compared to cacti. thank you very much. i thought they were gonna be hard but they are much easier to grow from seeds than i thought. also i never expected them to be this fast haha.

Re: Propagation of Nananthus seeds.
They are doing okay so far haha. just had to slowly reduce the watering. Ive found that once every 3 days for now seems fine. I didn't water them for a week and then went limp haha. for the smaller ones i still water them everyday, at least until the reach a decent size.

Re: Propagation of Nananthus seeds.
Hello everyone, its been sometime since Ive done an update regarding my nananthus seedlings. most of them have reached a decent size but some still remain as small as a grain of rice. Must be because i threw about a hundred plus seeds into a 4inch pot  . Anyways below are some pictures of them ...

Re: when to reduce watering/humidity for seedlings
Mesembs are not like cacti, they mostly don't need or like high humidity in the seedling stage, it makes them grow weak, spindly stems. What they need is good air circulation, they should come out of the baggie as soon as they're well up. Take them out now. Lithops are the exception, they will be h...

when to reduce watering/humidity for seedlings
i have a bunch of nananthus seeds that are about a month old. I'm not sure when to reduce the watering and humidity.
i was told that 4 months was when i could take it out of the zip lock bag and reduce watering, but by how much?

Re: Propagation of Nananthus seeds.
i am using the bagging method to sow the seeds. I find it easier, at least for me
below is the setup I'm using to grow the seeds along with some lithops, dinteranthus, pleiospilos nelii, lapidaria and a few succulents and cacti

Re: Propagation of Nananthus seeds.
i totally forgot to update the progress of the seedlings so here they are. in my opinion they are rather fast growing compared to other succulents. in about a month they are putting out the "real leaves". such lovely plants to grow.

Propagation of Nananthus seeds.
I recently harvested some seed pods from my nananthus. Ive never grown any cacti/succulents from seed before so im just trying it out. i collected the seeds on the 23/7/2020, i noticed growth on the 28/7/2020. it took me about 2 hours to harvest all the seeds from their pods haha.
