Re: Lithops

They are really cute. I got some as well a few weeks ago. They actually sold them as Lithops. If you google for Split Rock you'll find tons of text and video about care :) Here are mine.. they are in a southern windowsill, seems to work fine. I'm in Scandinavia so the sun isn't very strong though. ...

Re: Newbie Query: Are My Cacti Just Fine?

Hello and welcome! Your plants look stunning! And it is lovely you keep them so near to your bed, just like pets and best friends. :) I am also a newbie and have had my succulents and cacti for only 1 year, but I would still like to give you some advice. I think the plants on the top floor will be d...

Thank you for your answers. :)

Wow, only few times a year? I water most of my succulents once a week. Good to know, thank you!

Re: Outdoors / Direct sunlight

Too many to cover - I'd suggest you definitely identify each plant and do an internet search for its care requirements. That being said, here's a page that should help: https://www.succulentsandsunshine.com/how-much-heat-can-succulents-handle/ Thank you so much for your answer and suggestions!

Outdoors / Direct sunlight

As I am new with all the succulent and cacti thing I never thought much about direct sunlight and too much sun exposure before. When I bought a new succulent usually I would put it out right away to full sun and the plants (even small ones) would be doing just fine. Recently, maybe because summer ha...

Lithops

Hello, I would like to ask you for some advice. Recently a got a little Lithops. I put them out, in a sunny spot, but the roof was down, so they were getting undirect, filtered sunlight. After few days, I put the roof up and went shopping (forgot to put it down). When I came back about 3 pm, the pla...

I am trying to find out because I wonder if I will be able to keep them outside in winter. Winters here are mild, usually hardly ever temperature goes below 0*C.

Re: Sick or not? Not sure...

Absolutely agree with Harald ( hegar ) about mecanic / spine injury. Scale insects look completely other way. IMHO I'd plant each in own pot and wait till time will heal it. :) I have had them for about 3 weeks and when I got them the marks were much smaller and less visible. It sounds a bit weird ...

Re: Sick or not? Not sure...

Thank you for your answer. I spoke to someone in a plant store and showed her the photos and she says it might be scale insects so I bought a product to treat that. She also told me that cactus hardly ever get fungus. I do not believe it is mechanical injury, because it got worse overtime. When I fi...

Sick or not? Not sure...

I recently bought this cactus and I have not noticed that he had few marks. I am worried if it is fungus... I tried to remove them with toothbrush, few of the white marks moved easily, but the others are still attached to the plant. Do you think this cactus is sick or just a bit damaged? Please advi...

Re: Please help with identification needed

This is great, thank you for your help. Do you have any idea if these plants will tolerate full sun all day? Or do they prefer partly shady areas?

Please help with identification needed

Please if you know - could you tell me the names of these plants?
I only managed to find one name - portulacaria afra mediopicta commonly known as elephant bush, because apparently elephants eat it. :D
I also suspect that the green one on the left could be a type of aloe?
Thank you for your help!

Hello from Italy!

Hello! Me and my husband live in Italy. I am originally Polish and grew up in Poland and he is from South Africa. About a year ago we started our succulent and cacti collection. Here in Italy there is lots of sun shine so everything grows nicely, sometimes I even have an impression that some of my p...
