It take a long time for a melo with a Cephalium to re-root. Many times it will not. I had 2 that lost roots. One lived on for 2 years before dying because I kept misting it to keep it hydrated The second did re-root and has been doing well . It does have some roots, just less than an ideal amount. ...

yes. I've followed the melocactus blogs and posts and some people say it's easy and no problem re-potting. :dontknow: Melocactus, indeed have a bad reputation for being finicky and problematic . I can truly say in my experience it's very true. I had a very nice melo that I made the mistake to repot...

I'd like to see a bigger root system on your melo. I've had so much bad luck with re-potting melos that I will likely never repot any mature melo ever again. Just got this guy last week. Wish me luck. Currently have it in a south facing window in the warmest room in the house.
