DSLR are very expensive to use to take macro shots, I use a Canon Powershot A470 which takes great macro shots in my opinion and it a 7MP.
It's affordable which is a plus for me.

Would anyone be interested in seeing a L.W. v. Texana graft or one on it's own roots, I can snap a quick picture.

P. haselbergii?

You don't want dead plant matter in your soil, it attracts pests.

I'm not familiar with what you call mineral soil, wouldn't that be basically sand, clay, etc.
Or mineral soil like soil that was picked up after controlled burns where the top layer is decaying matter, I've heard it used both ways.

Nice seedlings by the way.

No, that is not. I am familiar with their guide, but with seedlings it seems a bit dangerous to simply place in cabinet considering there is nothing affixing it to the stock plant. It could slide off, but still that is good luck, con-grafts!

What sort of systematic would you recommend then for those of us in the US. IT seems that the majority of products would be expensive such as neem oil to use, and neem oil isn't really systematic either.

Nice, they seem very centered on the cut, the vascular tissue of Opuntia is a bit confusing.
Perhaps you could write a how you did this, steps, amount of humidity, things like that. None of my Opuntia to globular cacti grafts seem to like to take.

Wouldn't malathion be just as useful, you could apply that once a year and as long as it's not a plant who's fruit you intend to eat it should be successful. Malathion kills pretty much everything and it lasts.

One word, malathion. You will never have an issue with mealy bugs, scale insects and the likes every again. Only use with plants not intended for consumption.
