Re: 3 new succulents
Another possibility for the first is C monticola, now C rupestris. Rupestris is pretty variable. I have some brevifolia that I got that turned out to be monticola.

Re: New succulents
First is like H attenuate, but something not quite right, maybe a hybrid
Seems like all Lithops are L karasmontana from Home Depot etc
Aloe needs to grow for the third one.

difficulties in IDing haworthias
Hi BEsides the fact that so many Haworthias look similar, there is the problem that they can be grown very differently with different looks. I have had quite a few change over the years since I got them, but none has changed as amazingly as this one. I got it in 2008. 2008.JPG Now in 2011 2011.JPG l...

maybe one of these - mercadensis, sinisistrohamata, jaliscana, nazasensis, berkiana. Pilbeam indicates various authors lump some of these and split others.

Re: ID
The body looks a lot like Parodia taritensis. but that has a golden yellow flower. P chrysacanthion and comarapina are also similar, but I don't have a definitive one for you.

Re: Erioscyce sp
Thanks , I find id's for Eriosyce maddening. THe plants in cultivation, at least those I have and see around LA, look considerably different than those in habitat. So comparing them to NCL or Katterman's book is not always so helpful. It does match the plant being sold around are as huausensis, tho ...

thanks MIke

Re: Gasteria
I would agree that brachyphylla is a good likelihood. I am not sure there is a more promiscuous genus than Gasteria, however, so you may never be sure if it is really the species or a hybrid. But sure looks good for brachyphylla.

Ceropegia and who knows what?
Hello
The first is a total mystery, some said maybe from Madagascar. FLowers are pretty fragrant.
Second allegedly a Ceropegia. Doesn't quite look right for woodii, but maybe that?
thanks Mike

Re: Cleistocactus
thanks much,' I did see that pic, and helped me think of that. This was a freeby on the table at the club! Of course, most have little interest in these types, especially those that don't make good potted plants. I live in LA, and it is quite possible that this cutting is from the Huntington as some...
