Re: Arequipa longiflora kk 1703
I avoid plants with kk numbers. Most of the time you can never be sure what you are actually going to get. Knize does have a nice collection I just wish he would take better care labelling his plants and seeds to ensure it is what the label says it is. I know a lot of the trichocereus seeds he sells...

you can put everything you learn online about your (our) hobby here into practice in your own garden. It will get you away from your comp and you will be spending that time admiring and caring for your plants

I can send a box of some spare cacti I have. I do not want anything in return except maybe shipping if it is on the expensive side.

Re: Rotting peyote seedling?
Did you align the vascular rings well and use something like electric tape to keep pressure on the scion? It also helps keeping new grafts in shade for the first couple of days. Mistakes are just new learning experiences :) I know I had a lot of mistakes when I first started grafting. But seeing all...

Re: list of rare cactus

Re: Rotting peyote seedling?
If you have stock material you could try to graft them. Just cut above the rot on the scion. Or you could give a dusting of sulfur powder or cinnamon and let them completely dry out. Just some ideas I would think about doing if I had your problem.

yes but I think brugs have it in higher concentration.
I agree. I have a lovely little d. wrightii in my garden amongst my cacti. It is there to add flowers when my cacti aren;t so willing to do so. I think it adds in a nice contrast

Re: The worlds scariest drug
I am pretty sure brugmansia and datura have the same alkaloid profile. The differences are the amounts of each chemical they contain. I believe I read somewhere brugmansia are grown to extract scopolamine from. They use the chemical in doctors offices to dialate your eyes if I am not mistaken.
