Maybe should I have started a new thread... if so, just tell me. Now I have this fruit that just fell off the presumed Notocactus haselbergii. I couldn't find any clear picture of a noto fruit on the web to compare. They were all hidden behind flowers (understandably, that's what people like to shoo...

Fertilizing a repotted plant

I would just want to hear you people on that point. Would you recommend or not ? Because I've read some posts (can't remember if it's here) of people discouraging it.
I might give the plant at least one or two watering before including some fertilizer ? What do you guys think ? or do ?

Sorry didn't mention that the second was in a tiny 2" pot. I just repotted it in this pot. I would have gone with a slightly smaller pot but this one was the only I had left.

First one. The newbie is guessing a mamm. Those guys are smalls, 3" pot. There are basically two of them with pupps. Can I try to make a cut at any puppie or should I wait they get a bit older ? http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/2787_IMG_30781_1.jpg Second one. Probably was a cutting look...

Pereskiopsis in Canada ?

Someone knows where I could order pereskiopsis in Canada ? I'm in the Quebec province. If anybody up here ever ordered some plants or cuttings through the web, just let me know please.

I'm interested if anyone knows with taking some of my macro pictures taken at different focus points and layering them to create a sharper image since I do not have real macro lenses. Its a bit of work but if any one has suggestions let me know. I think you'll have a hard time layering those pictur...

I'm a very newbie in cacti and my english is not flawless. This might be evident for a lot of people but i'm gonna ask anyway, just to clear it out...

Are those pods containing the seeds ?
And by "unripe" you mean that they are not ready ?

Wow thanks hob! The middle one, Notocactus haselbergii, had his flowers on smalls outgrows. How do you guys call that ? http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/2787_IMG_18321_1.jpg Sorry for the picture quality but you are probably familiar with that anyway... What should I do with this ? Will it co...

Don't know about Wal-Mart, but up here, seems like every Rona Hardware Store carries it at a much cheaper price than the Napa stuff. I'm gonna try it and hope it doesn't affect the soil's pH. I might also try to buy the Napa stuff and have two similar plants one being in Napa and the other one in Oi...

Two buddies to identify

Those two little buddies were just too cute to let them struggle for life in this dollar-store.

Anything new about Oil-Dri? Anyone tried it in their own mixed soil? This thing is easier to get and also cheaper around here.

If anyone tried it, just let me know.

I'll then stop worrying about the names and try to grow healthy plants. I just can't give it more natural light for next month or so. It has also been kept in cheap cactus soil and peat... should I repot now or wait until it has more light ?

Here are pictures of the original cacti. Looking at the flower, I would now go for a Disocactus/Epiphyllum ackermannii unless someone states me wrong.

Easiest cacti to grow from seed

I am still a real newbie about cacti... but i wanna try to grow some from seed. I've carefully read a lot of posts of this forum in the last few days. I know (well... learned while reading) a lot of factors can influence this but I'd like to know which species are, according to you, the hardiest/eas...
