Re: Grass in outdoor cactus beds

I know that Roundup kills it very effectively so you only need not to spray but use small brush and put small amount of Roundup on grass stems and leaves. It will kill all rhizomes also.

Re: Big scale infestation - please help

I'd spray with some systemic insecticide x2 within 2 weeks and also give it as solution in substrate once.
E.g. Provado/Acetamiprid.

S. steinbachii? taratensis? Better to see with flowers, they flower in very early age.

Re: Offset?

G horstii is an easy plant, gives offsets regulary. This one had to grow downward because of bad place of origin. Cut away, let it dry a week and plant as a common cactus, first time protect from direct sun.

Re: Is this an Acanthocereus tetragonus or subinermis?

Many thanks for your post and picture. Maybe it will become clear to those who think that "Fairy Castle" is a cultivar of Acanthocereus tetragonus.
Sad mistake of some non-educated commercial gave subsequence of wide misunderstanding.

Re: Small intetesting cactus - but how big do these get?

Usual monstrose Cereus peruvianus, more close to juvenile form. If gradually grow and cut bigger upper stems you can get adult monstrose plant able to flower.
