I agree with chinocephala,spinossisima and karwisiana ( may be karwisiana nejapensins(white spines) with short spines, the karwisiana ssp karwisiana has central black spines ,or hybrid ) The last one seems plumosa (left)and right isn´t bombycina ,this has hooked ,and redish spines,never brown Just t...

I think it´s just an inusual answer of the plant ,when it suffers an acident or to much stress there are crested seeding,but less than in mature plants Sometimes in habitat it´s made by atact of a red spider or that insect that made cotton ,could be done afther a bite of an animal or another damage ...

Thanks for the coments.. The plastic (TRANSPARENT) trays are the best pots I find to sow This ones have a top that close hermetic,I make some holes at the bottom and put a finger of gravel ,afther the soil depending what you sow I irrigate them by inmersion with water and anti -fungus .......And put...
