Re: Do blue mutants of cacti exist?
Saxicola i agree that eBay sellers are not the most honest however the photo I saw was on a Japanese cactus selling site that sells many of the originating cultivators that we see after a few months/years on ebay. I just can't locate the photo for some reason. The astro that had that 'blue' flower w...

Thailand growers have been able to create a blue/violet flowering astrophytum. I can't remember where I saw the photo.

Does anyone know if aztekium valdezii is self fertile like its siblings? I'm not sure if this was mentioned in its description.

Re: Graft stock,Pereskiopsis "GIGANT"?
It is not a new species simple a different one. I have to distinct pereskiopsis sp. 1 is spathulata which is the 'smaller' clone and the other is likely diguetii is the larger 1.

Re: Germanation temperature
There shouldn't be LOTS of mold or cobweb like substance but you can see a very thin root fibers. I've had success with aztekium germination recently and 75-80 day temps seems to be ideal however lower temps work but may take longer to germinate. I've had them sprout in 6-7 days in higher temps and ...

Looking for Blossfeldia seeds/graft
I'm looking for some seeds of any Blossfeldia sp. I know they are self-fertile and produce lots of seeds so was hoping someone had some to spare/sell before I overpay for some on ebay. In the US the sellers all tend to overprice the seeds although mile2go sells a grafts for a reasonable price. Anyon...

Re: New Aztekium species Aztekium valdezii
This species has been under wraps for 4 years now and the seeds HAVE been distributed for FREE by the discoverer and continues to be given away for free to those in the loop since its discovery. The plants offered could have been produced in cultivation by grafting then rooting it after it's reached...

Re: Fertilizer and the Fleischer method
Your right promethean although some are like lava rock... the Granite and Rock Phosphate along with the lava rock will provide nutrients to the seedlings. There is just a lack of nitrogen in the mix but the roots seem to have a nitrogen-fixing bacteria that eats rock. I will likely add a small amoun...

Fertilizer and the Fleischer method
I was wondering if you need to fertilize when using the the Fleischer method for sowing tiny cacti seeds like Aztekium, Geohintonia and Blossfeldia. I will be using a 100% mineral mix so there will be no nutrients available or very little. Would these cacti seedlings grow an entire year or two witho...

Re: Lophophora var. caespitose question.
They are considered a 'reliable' vendor. If the seeds were taken from a Lophophora var. caespitose fruit it will be true to its form. They don't easily hybrid. If you buy Lophophora var. caespitose seeds they should have caespitose growth once they reach a certain size.
