thanks ian, although i think the sun here is the real problem. i got a new job so i wasn't home much last week, and unfortunately it's been the hottest week of the year, every day was over 100. one split on the top and another got scorched on one side. i put them all in indirect light but they seem ...

there isn't any new leaves growing in the middle, i'm just hoping that some new leaves will start growing soon

i'm happy to report that this plant is still alive and if anything the rot is shrinking :D . after i just left it out in the sun, it hasn't done much, but it seems to be getting greener and the small spots of rot are if anything becoming lighter and smaller.

well it's been a month and i'm happy to report that all my little lithops are doing fine :mrgreen: . the smallest one has a pretty sizable bleached scar i just noticed today, so he and his potmate are partial shade now. it turns out in a climate like this is you leave them out all day in the sun the...

i thought it was a shade cactus so i had it on a windowsill no wonder it was growing kinda leggy. thanks! i'll be sure to move it outside in the partial shade of a tree or something soon

i've had a cutting of Stapelia for nearly a year now that i got from my girlfriend's grandmother, are you telling me that if i put it out in direct sunlight it'll grow harder and thornier?! :shock:

some of the limbs are getting kinda leggy so yeah, i want to prune the branches so they'll grow back denser. and i'd rather nip the problem in the butt before my plant start's to look weird.

thanks for that. the leaves are kinda looking werid on mine. they have pale and dark splotches and they're symmetry is off. some stems have normal leaves but the rest are all funky looking. anyone got any ideas whats up? i mean it's ruining the plant, it's just irking me.

random thought: if clay holds on to water like a sponge, could i plant a water loving plant clay soil?
