Don't water them much in Summer just a quick spray, but more water in Fall you can see them start growing again then I will water. I like Mesa Gardens do...

Re: cactus quest video at Mesa gardens
yea for sure but it seems like its getting out of hand with the weeds and dirt covered benches. Compare to franks greenhouse which looks like a surgery center so tidy. I can tell Mesa likes Mesmbs best because that greenhouse was organized. I would expand on that but then I don't own a nursery busin...

Re: Harvesting seeds
Pulpy fruit hard to get seeds out I put the whole fruit in a jar of water and shake it to try and separate seeds from surgery pulp. Good thing is usually there are hundreds of seeds. I have to cross plants to get seeds. Patient growers can wait for the fruit to totally dry out and separate out seeds...

Re: MrXeric's seedlings 2021
Conophytums seedlings ? IDK I guess I would let them grow but only light water maybe spray them. Mine are all dormant but some I can see green under the sheaths. Conophytums they seem to go dormant early and wake up early compared to other native Winter growers in S CA. I'm also suspecting most lith...

Re: Rooting a mammillaria from a top cut
I take cuttings when the main stem gets too tall or I want more plants . I root them on sand with normal soil under the sand and keep them in the shade out of direct sunlight . Works best in active growing season. White powder is rootone

I've since fixed it to neutral PH and all elements are balanced . All that compost your soil will be slightly acidic I bet , which is fine for almost all cactus.
