Re: Let"s Start our ROUND ROBIN trade list! 2013

I am a little confused if those out of the USA wanna join and willing to pay the shipping cost why not join? I have bought things on ebay from New Zealand, and England and I just sent seeds to a friend in Japan and she sent me some. I feel bad for those feeling excluded. I know the cost is hefty wel...

Re: Jade Plant Help Needed (Please)

I agree Jades really don't need repotting as much as you might think. I train all mine in bonsai pots.. That is how limited the root zone is on a jade plant. I will use a nice looking slip / cashe pot to hide the nursery pot and leave it alone. It is a nice plant and will give you years of pleasure....

Re: Do these look like they are getting enough light?

best guess as to what your plant might be is an Echeveria or a Graptoveria... your plants do need more light I agree that the form should be a tighter rosette.. I have seen my Echeveria do this in the past I live in michigan and I grow my plants 4-6 months of the year under lights. I have given up o...

Re: Echeveria 'Lotus' propagation problems!!

My experience the leaf can produce a plantlet ... (maybe not right term LOL ) ...best guess within a month you see little leaves. Much like sedums. Sometimes it can seem like its not going to happen then all of a sudden it does nutts and starts growing rather quickly. I have to admit I never timed i...

Re: Jade Plant Help Needed (Please)

I would say that some of that is too be expected with it changing environments. ( from nursery/ store / office ) I would be more worried if it was over watered... if this ever happens and it begins to rot remove soil and let as much root dry as possible. Cutting stuck in wet sand placed in good sun ...

Obregonia denegrii & Ariocarpus (watering and temp)

BEFORE I BUY ONE... I have a few Questions on watering and temps. I am wondering how hard are Artichoke Cactus too keep? How do you water them? Like Gymnocalycium's or more like lithops? I did see they like to be protected from intense light.. which I can do easy enough on my plant station. ...........

Re: Echeveria 'Lotus' propagation problems!!

hi I have not tried this variety but I have had success with getting leafs to grow into starter plants. Mostly with no effort really on my part... LOL sticking them in the soil seems to not work as well as laying them on the top of soil. ( I used wet sand mixed with some potting soil as a substrate ...

Do you still have some seeds from your cross? I know its not likely as this is an old post but I thought I would ask.

Gymnocalycium's are my favorite cacti... I have a beautiful clump that is maybe 15 plus years old...

I imagine you started some I would love to see the results...

Re: Haworthia is looking sickly

Curious what happened with your plant ? did it end up dying? Haworthia are an amazing plant.. you can if your still having the same conditions pull it out of the soil and let it dry for a couple days.. to a week or more depending on your conditions and then re-pot it... Haworthia with not one single...
