Ro it will explain but the basics is that cacti are unlike most plants in that they don't need the organics found in most dirt, there are some exceptions as always but most will grow like moss on rock and be healthy while eliminating issues like drainage, bacteria ...

While these soil mixes you see are good its better to taylor you soil to your circumstances. I live in wales so we will get quite similar cold wet and dark weather with intermittent heat and sun during the summer. So I collect my ingredients from nature for free. Streams are good for grit and sands...

Crostoncactus.co.uk do online orders. I have bought a few plants off John and Norma, very good quality plants and friendly and quick service. Also I have bought a few off plantlifecactus, solentguy and chilternhillscacti via ebay. I know the price then becomes variable but they do add new stock all...

Hi Dave, All flowering plants flower. However some have to be larger than others to do so. Whilst some cacti can flower at half an inch across and high, others like the Saguaro (Carnegia gigantea) need to be six to seven foot or more high before they start. Hey guys, do all cacti flower? I have 10 cacti at the moment but none of them ever flowered? They are growing but not flowering, they are kept indoors.

Hi guys, my name is Dave and i live in Scotland. I have had cacti and succulents for over a year but always treated them as "flowers" but just recently i got an interest in them. Nice to meet all of you :)
