Re: ❀My Growing Diary❀

Yes, perhaps I should, since I don't know what else I am doing incorrectly. My seeds always sprout beautiful little cactuses, but then they die a little later. I have always wanted a pretty little B. Liliputana to take to the cactus and succulent show, but they die so easily.

Re: My Cactus Collection

This post is not about my collection really, but I am so excited that I just had to share. I am planning a camping trip in the Devil's river state natural area, and that is cactus country if there ever was one. I will see so many cactus in their natural habitat, unbothered by humans. I wish I could ...

Thank you for the I.D. I think it is Heyderi too. I read in a book that it is supposed to live where I live, so it is likely that cactus. Is it self fertilizing?

Re: ❀My Growing Diary❀

Wow, it has been a long while since I tried to grow from seed! Thank you for the advice and encouragement everyone. I just sowed some seeds again. I tried the same as always, my favorite Turbinicarpus, and my B. Liliputana. None of my baby cactuses have ever survived, so I hope this season is differ...

Cheap cactus soil mix

I just wanted to ask if any of you have super cheap cactus soil mix recipes. I like budget gardening, and I usually like to plant cactus seeds on a whim, so I don't usually have many top quality items lying around. I have found a solution that seems to work well. I will share it, but I do get nervou...

Bonsai!!!

Howdy again everyone. I moved away from San Antonio, back into cactus country where I come from, and I also became a teacher. Oh yeah, and I have some bonsai trees now as well that I like. This has all transpired since I last visited the forum. How has everyone here been? Any new and exciting things...

:x I can't I.D. it, and I really wish I could. Maybe Klinkerianus? I am getting frustrated with this cactus, lol.

Re: I'm back again, and I have 2 cactus that need an I.D.

Thank you esp imaging. Do you think that it could be M. Heyderi ssp. Heyderi? I think I spelled that right. :) Also, I thought that the second might be some sort of schmidickeanus as well, but I don't know which one. I thought andersonii, but it looks different from my other two andersonii specimens...

I'm back again, and I have 2 cactus that need an I.D.

Hello everyone, I am back from my winter hiatus, and ready for cactus season again. I thought I would just say hello before I ask for any favors. It turns out that I have a new cactus that's needs an I.D., and an old cactus that I still haven't been able to I.D. myself. Thanks in advance for any and...

Wow! Those are very beautiful cacti, you're lucky! Nothing of mine has bloomed so magnificently this season.

Re: A small collection 2015

Awww, that's a shame. Those pots are really pretty. I like the new home for your E. Odieri. They look well together. :) Have you seen any long toms around your area? Thanks, TPP! I think one of the pots I snagged at Desert Creations today might qualify as a long tom. It'll be taken up by an Astroph...

Re: My Cactus Collection

Thanks Steve! I think you should definitely get one. It is one of my favorite plants so far. It's a lovely little plant. I hope I get to see it flower soon. From what I have read, they need quite a bit of light, but the person that I bought it from had it inside of his green house in a shady area be...

Re: My Cactus Collection

Thank you :) I can't wait until they get big and look like they are about a million years old. I had to have the A. Kotschoubeyanus, it just looks so cute laying flat on the ground like that.
