Re: Do blue mutants of cacti exist?
Hello all. I have been reading this topic with interest. My father gave me a small tree, but i forget the name of it Claridendron or something. The leaves smelled foul when crushed but the blossoms smelled like orange blossom. The resulting berries were a manificent swimming pool blue surrounded by ...

Another Agavoides pic from a different angle. It has another bud on the way and I have stopped watering now as weve had cold nights and not much sun in the last few days, and plenty of rain!

Re: Good time to repot new cactus?
Thankyou for your replies. I will repot and try and remove as much peat as possible!
Davew I never thought of it that way and I suppose it does keep a lot of people in jobs. Amazing photo of all those mass produced cacti!
Thankyou

Very sad indeed
A heavy price to pay but an even heavier price to pay for the habitat.
As long as there are those willing to pay that sort of money there will be people willing to steal these plants without any thought for the consequences only short term gain

Re: Good time to repot new cactus?
Just one more quick question. Why on earth do they spoil an otherwise beautiful cactus with these awful flowers and great gobs of glue that spoil the spines? Mystified

Good time to repot new cactus?
Hello all. We went to a garden centre to buy bulbs for the garden but came out with 2 new cacti. They unfortunately had fake straw flowers stuck on them, but we thought with some careful surgery they could be removed. I got them because I loved their ginger soft spines. They were only£2.00 each! The...

Re: Astrophytum myriostigma soil
Thankyou all for the advice concerning the limestone chippings. I have to use rain water as I live in a hard water area, and it leaves horrible white chalky deposits
Thank you all Appreciated
