My latest keyq suggests it may be cheranganiensis, but I think it needs revitalising to check some of the details.

Thanks raales3, I'll have a look, but rupestris comes from south africa and I'm sure ghis is kenyan.

Must be 10 years old I guess - seed came from south Africa but others have sourced it elsewhere...

I have 3 from 4 seeds and they seem to be growing reasonavbly well, perhpas a bit more than 2cm across after 1 year - just starting to get the fluffy points.
The seed was expensive but the plant is special and new.

It looks like an Aeonium nobile to me - if so the leaves should be quite thick and somewhat sticky.

The easiest way to depot something like that is by hosing out all the soil with a hosepipe, leaves the plant undamaged and the pot clean.
