Nice progress... I am also trying opuntia grafting this summer for the first time.. Do you know if opuntia stock produces slower growth than say Harrissa or mytrillocactus?

nice plants. I'm thinking of doing a temporary hoop structure similar to yours. We get our rains in the Fall and Winter here.

Yes iann, Im hooked :D , here is a little update from the cacti seedlings sown end of july this year. The have had the hood on the seed trap all day/ sitting almost 100% of the time in a little water. Wondering when I should start to let them dry out more? I think the pads I chose from my christmas cactus were too small. I tried to get fairly new pads, with a smaller pad forming on it.
Did you root your pads in a soil medium? The video said to place them in trays (humid box). I placed them in 100% perlite...a few rotted.

nice blooms! I have tried growing Mammillaria luethyi, M. hernandezii, Rebutia heliosa. all rotted! Still working out my growing conditions. If I were to apply supplemental light...it would be with a standard T8 shop lights.
melocactus azureus does have a Cephalium...and the discocactus is grafted to harrisa stock.

Here is mine from M2G. labeled Mammillaria sphaerica...
perhaps there is a difference in the color of the anthers or stigma?

these grafts are great...I always seem to loose the leaves on my pereskiopsis....or the scion mysteriously shrivels and dies
