Nope I would still say Mamm. Prolifera. The only red thing on them is probably their red fruits. Flower color is right.

Re: disease diagnosis
It appears to be viral or fungal in origin. I honestly don't know the best course of action. You could separate them from the rest of the unaffected seedlings. They might be able to fight the infection off, but then again they may not.

Re: Propagation of asterias from seed
What would you say would be the best idea for rooting? Just cut it off let it callous, and put in an airy rooting mix like perlite or vermiculite?
Thanks,
Will

Re: Echinopsis (huascha??)
No, I think you have it right! I would agree with your guess although with hybrids so common it could be a hybrid as well. When it flowers the flowers will confirm huaschua or hybrid. Either way it will have impressive flowers!

Re: Propagation of asterias from seed
Well I actually managed to track a v-type down! It is not nearly as cool as the ones that you have, but hopefully I can make some seeds from other super kabutos and that the next generations will be better. It is not quite as big as I would like (about 1 inch in diameter) and grafted. Do you think i...

Re: crassula buddha's temple help
I would say that you need to cut the stem back until there is nothing but green showing. If you let it be, it could overcome the rot and live... Or it could succumb to the rot. Either way is a gamble but your best bet it to cut the stem back give it some time to callous over and re root it.

It's an extremely young opuntia seedling. No way to be any more specific for the next couple months or years.

Re: Updated seed lists
As far as the viability of seeds. Everything I received from them germinated well. Especially all of the astrophytum myriostigma seeds I ended up with 12 plants from "10" seeds in multiple pots. The red flowered and oobio asterias did not germinate well for me though. Everything else from ...

Re: Propagation of asterias from seed
May I ask who your seed supplier was? I have been searching for seeds of the V type asterias for months and have never found any (at least never any in stock).

Re: Propagation of asterias from seed
Those are stunning! So did you buy seeds of that cultivar originally and grow them to maturity from seed, or did you grow them from the original superkabuto seeds and they just happen to be the v-type/tiger/arrow?

Re: Propagation of asterias from seed
Very nice plants and a great thread! Do you have any of the v-type super kabuto that you have raised from seed?
