Id go for e mamillosa to ID the first as spines are short but some brown tipped and the stem is quite globular

Maybe that cactus you don’t have an I’d for that came from a seed pack is an Echinopsis silvestrii (not chamaecereus) or e. Ancistrophora hmmm

Yes plenty of people get themselves into bidding wars over many cacti on eBay ..I avoid them but have bought on eBay..all you need to do is check websites like kakteen haage and Uhlig to find more sane price tags..you can find more variety and lower prices buying seed but few would have the patience...

Thank you so much for posting the link about desert city in Madrid!!! I had no idea despite living in Madrid ..I will be going tomorrow!! ...not sure about the name of that persons cactus shop in the second link..prick is not something you could call a shop in Ireland at least

Echinopsis aurea ..stem is quite round but still..spines and flower bud like one I have

I think it may be overwatering...I read the care instructions on llifle.com and it says only water moderately and in hot weather as candicans tends to get black rotted spots and fungal disease otherwise ...the black points between the ribs are not soft and cannot be scraped off..although weather is ...

Candicans trouble
Folks my candicans has black sap between a few ribs..it's not oozing and is hard...is this a sign of s bacterial problem?? Can anyone confirm they have experienced this and know what to do? ...the candicans in question is showing growth and is not looking stressed..can anyone help?

Hi folks..happy new year to everyone!! Could anybody please identify this one? A friend bought it and asked me to if it ...I've seen it often enough locally in garden centres but am not sure what it is..a gymnocalycium? Lobivia? Checked pictures for both but didn't find it..thanks a lot
