Re: toadstar's cactus

Maybe that cactus you don’t have an I’d for that came from a seed pack is an Echinopsis silvestrii (not chamaecereus) or e. Ancistrophora hmmm

Re: Cacti in Madrid.

Yes plenty of people get themselves into bidding wars over many cacti on eBay ..I avoid them but have bought on eBay..all you need to do is check websites like kakteen haage and Uhlig to find more sane price tags..you can find more variety and lower prices buying seed but few would have the patience...

Re: Candicans trouble

I think it may be overwatering...I read the care instructions on llifle.com and it says only water moderately and in hot weather as candicans tends to get black rotted spots and fungal disease otherwise ...the black points between the ribs are not soft and cannot be scraped off..although weather is ...

Common one but never owned it so unsure

Hi folks..happy new year to everyone!! Could anybody please identify this one? A friend bought it and asked me to if it ...I've seen it often enough locally in garden centres but am not sure what it is..a gymnocalycium? Lobivia? Checked pictures for both but didn't find it..thanks a lot
