Re: Help with Opuntia ID
Thanks for the reply esp. The flower should help with the ID. The nearest I could get with a possible species is the Opuntia canterae (syn. O. elata). I'll see what develops.

Re: CSSA question
Thanks Dave. I did receive a "Order confirmation" from geisel but it looked like an automated purchase response. I was expecting a "welcome new member" message, a bit more personal. I'm old fashioned I suppose. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

CSSA question
Has anyone tried to join the CSSA (Cactus & Succulent Society of America) recently? I paid for membership in late February through their Website and have had no response since. Tried to email their one and only contact listed on their site, "For inquiries about membership, subscriptions, an...

Help with Opuntia ID
Please help with this Opuntia identification. It is an Altman grown but they have no ID for it on their web pages. I've seen it around our local box stores but avoided the impulse buy, trying to keep my glochid population in check but my dear wife thought it would be a nice surprise, yes it was. Opu...

Re: Euphorbia tortilis x Euphorbia tortirama, and Pachypodium bispinosum
The picture you have of the P. bispinosum looks correct to me, the flower also looks correct for P. bispinosum. I purchased one a couple of weeks ago and it is coming out of it's bare root to potting shock. Very nice plant when mature. Don't know much about the Euphorbia in question.
Cheers.

Re: Need Help with Cactus Identification
This looks like Chamaelobivia 'Rose Quartz' it is a hybrid between Chamaecereus ("Peanut Cactus") and Lobvia. Also would agree with Adetheproducer's comments. If you choose to make the changes, this cactus should produce gorgeous flowers. I would remove the fake flowers that are glued on.

Re: very sick euphoria mammillarius variegated
It looks ok to me. Make sure it is potted in low-organic well draining soil. Hold back watering until it starts to warm up in Spring. A bright sunny spot is good. Here is a good link for general care and propagation: http://www.llifle.com/Encyclopedia/SUCCULENTS/Family/Euphorbiaceae/12592/Euphorbia_...

Re: New plants in
Almost identical to ones I have in my collection so I would start with these IDs for you to check on:
1. Eriosyce senilis
2. Mammillaria marksiana
3. Polaskia chichipe
Cheers,
Rei

Hi Chris. Here is a possibility for what you have: Aloe lateritia http://succulent-plant.com/families/aloaceae.html. There is a description about half way down the page.

Re: Stick Euphorbia?
At first glance I thought this was E. tirucalli but this plant does not appear to freely branch and the stems are much thicker than the common tirucalli I've seen and the several ones I have. Found this good article on "Stick Euphorbias" but could not make a positive id http://davesgarden....

Stick Euphorbia?
Found this strange vine looking Euphorbia I think, at the CSFU Arboretum. Any ideas what it is? The branches appear to grow in segments, like bamboo.
Thanks.
