Re: Pachypodium pruning: suggestions are welcome
Thank you, mmcavall. What a luxury -- a Pachy in the yard! Wow! Here we have much too cold winters, expecially cold plus wet. I can only dream of your yard. :-) Haha Nothing special. Just a few Aloes and these Pachys. Some cacti of course but they are not very well to tell you the truth. Some pictu...

Re: Some of my young San Pedro's Need help standing fall over.
Pick one of them and give it a good soak and some shade. See what happens. So you will know what to do with the others. (I never saw a columnar cacti become soft due to drought , but I 'm not familiar to this species). I would recomend you to try plastic pots. There are some threads about plastic x ...

Hi nachtkrabb
My P. lamerei is planted in my frontyard under full sun. I never noticed any sunburn problem. I'll take a look in search of sunburns and come back here.

Re: What is more important?
New acquired cacti must have the roots cleaned from the substrate because the mix they use to produce cacti is not good for them in reality. Cacti end up dying in this mix. It is advisable to throw it away and made yourself a new one. When you do it, it is a good opportunity to see the roots and was...

Re: What Blue Cactus am I?
Indeed.
It is amazing to see how many ribs it has to add to reach full size. Smaller species have a higher number of ribs since they are young. The bigger the species, the number of ribs will be smaller when young (right? thats something my little platyacanthus made me think, not sure it is correct).
