West Texas cactus from Big bend to Guadalupe Mountains to Franklin Mountain state park. Ariocarpus were photographed in big bend and the Epithelantha in the Guadalupe Mountains. I use normal sandy soil volcanic in origin mixed with Pumice which is also volcanic . Mexican cactus come from sedimentary soils of limestone origin so I add Gypsum. I just started though a year or so ago well see if it makes a difference. No organic wood products. I've tried them and don't like the...

They look very happy :D Mine grow much slower and less green in color. I had probelms with A. retutus from 2012 many died I think bad soil. Kotschobeyanus seem the easiest to grow less rot prone I have many now.

Conophytums start growing in Autumn so I think your plant is OK to start growing now. You're right in Summer not much water and shadier location.

yep I used to live there five seasons they divide summer into two parts dry and wet . I wouldn't water them until spring

I trade extra cactus I grow from seed for species I don't have . I used to sell on Ebay but new tax laws have pretty much stopped that

I grow Lithops in sandy soil Plus Pumice 50% -50% . I think DG will work fine mixed with some kind of soil . There is a grower in the San Fernando valley that grows hundreds of Lithops in that kind of soil mix. "Succulents of the Veld ." What kind of soil IDK I think most people buy someth...

Cactus Duty on Etsy sells seeds but the selection is very limited :D All the Ariocarpus sold out quick because they sold way below market but more will show up in summer hopefully ...

They all look very good , you are under grow lights now ? I have lithops going now but cactus will have to wait until its warmer .

Epithelantha ilariae hard to find you can make seeds eventually :D

Rainwater something about it really helps . storing it is not the same as when it falls out of the sky . M herrerea is always a tricky plant to germinate , somtimes 100% mostly about 10% .
