Re: One Seed Growing Approach
Rainwater something about it really helps . storing it is not the same as when it falls out of the sky . M herrerea is always a tricky plant to germinate , somtimes 100% mostly about 10% .

Re: Am I looking at Scale?
Usually you can see the tiny white insect under its shell if its scale . You scrape them off but they come back . scale infestations on my cactus always came back after scraping it off . they come off pretty easy and grow back fast I think they live in the soil before climbing on the plant and makin...

Re: Seedlings stopped growing.
BenCSS, when seedlings stop growing you can stimulate them by repotting them in the fresh substrate" I do this also and should have mentioned it along with MAYBE more water . I do it with cactus seedlings and Mesembs especially if there is a mold outbreak. short video 'cactus duty' shows me tra...

Re: Seedlings stopped growing.
one the day after watering and it was already dry. " Maybe that's why they stopped growing ? My seedlings usually slow down or stop as I dry them out I do this to prevent rot . Eventually they will start growing again as I change to a wet then dry cycle like adult plants.

Re: Seeking help from everyone, what kind of bacteria is this and how to deal with it?
Organic material in the substrate invites mold, so a purely mineral substrate with a layer of potting sand doesn't give the mold anything to feast on" I agree I don't use raw organic soil for cactus seeds and when I did its often with bad results. Be careful mold can grow on the seed coat itsel...
