You've made a good choice, Christer. If you feed them well, they grow as fast as on larger stocks. Check out these larger grafts: http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/1468_PC080039_1.jpg http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/1468_PC080038_1.jpg and some newer ones... http://www.cactiguide.com/f...

Thanks!!

I've grafted ACM also on Pereskiopsis, but the best growth for now I get on Selenicereus. The grafted one on Hylo is growing some shorter but it is making buds also.
Since two years I'm making lower grafts on Selenicereus. They grow at the same speed and are much more stable.

Carlo, this Gymno cannot live without being grafted. It has no chlorophyll. So you should look for any available stock to graft on.

Thanks, guys!

Vlani, I recommend Selenicereus as grafting stock, it works very well with Arthrocereus.

Christer,
the stems are 2 cm thick and 30 cm tall. This is the largest plant I have, the others are still smaller.

I've reused Selenicereus stocks many times and it works well, since you don't get an offset lower than the point where you want to graft.

Arthrocereus rondonianus

Hi friends, This is the first flowering plant of this specimen in my collection. It is 3 years old, raised from seeds, grafted and later rooted again. The flowers are very special, as you can see. http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/1468_PB100012_1.jpg http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/146...

Hi Jens,
I water all my graftings from time to time during winter (once a month or so), but we do not have very low temps. So I water mostly on days with >15 C.

Thanks for the comments! @Jens, great Eriosyce you got there. They seem to maintain their flowering schedule, despite of the location... ;) @alkravi, the horstii of the picture is grafted. I have one degrafted and rooted and another bunch of seedlings. It is not easy to grow them on their own roots,...

I know some folk who absolutely don't rotate the pots, in fact they even mark the pots so that if they have to move them they end up facing the same way. They say that it is natural for the plant to lean towards the sun. Me, I always rotate them as I like the plants to grow upwards :) I don't rotat...
