Hi Peter,
you can see it just in the center of the image, it is E. macdowellii.
Here is another pic, I will try to take some more of this species to post it.

Frailea cataphracta at its habitat

This little Frailea grows in the eastern region of Paraguay. It is very hard to find, but when you discover the first plant, you can see a lot of them, also under your feet! I was lucky to see really lots of them in all sizes and I estimate over 200.000 plants on this untouched place. The clima in t...

Hi Lewis, under my conditions, Selenicereus is one of the best root stocks. It gives me a taking rate of over 95% and an accelerated growing quite as Pereskiopsis. As Selenic. doesn't get hard or woody at its base, you can use it over and over (unlike Peresk.). Because of this fact, some bigger graf...

Grafting to Selenicereus

Hi all, here I want to show some grafts to Selenicereus. This is a very good root for graftig seedlings. You can graft small seedlings from a few milimeters on. Here some pictures: http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/1468_mammillarias_1.jpg Mammillarias and Echinomastus, 18 months old http://www...

Hello from Paraguay

Hi all, since a couple of weeks, I am reading this interesting forum. So I think it is time to introduce myself. I´m 49 and migrated from Germany to Paraguay 30 years ago. I love cacti since I was 14, but I´ve got a break collecting cacti because of familiar problems. Now, only 4 years ago I quite r...

Hi all,

Ed's backyard is really amazing! Here in Paraguay we cannot grow outdoor cacti in that perfect condition. May be this is why you don´t have any cactus parasites there in Australia?
