My 3 years old T. densun spend most of the time on a windowsill except last summer and had its first flower last week.

North American species could be sown in the middle of the winter. You still might have cold nights

I think your best bet would be 1-3mm pumice, dump.
Disclaimer: manage to root 1 leaf of Aeonium haworthii, never got plantlets though.

This is a plug that nurseries use for plant propagation, it’s more efficient way in mass plant production.
You can tear some of it out trying not to damage roots.

It looks healthy, slightly dehydrated.
Let it callous and depending on your location/day temperatures put in a dry or slightly dump soil to root.
