Re: Escobaria minima
Winter time 2015 lost some seedlings in the mixed pot but it looks like all the Escobaria minima are still alive. Seedling Mammillaria sanchez mejodra from this year this was the only pot that had decent germination all my other pots are sporadic with few plants.

They did pretty good in Phoenix even at 115F while many of my other succulents didn't. I Grow them under 50% shade cloth. Seeds germinate ea...

Re: Rock garden so far
When I first bought the place it was wall to wall grass , no way could I grow cactus in this back yard with water overspray everywhere they would all get black mold on the spines, etc.
Plus then we had a drought so I was ahead of the curve.

Re: End of Summer
Hi Craig, I cut the head off it many years ago to try and get a clump. It was part of a Mesa garden seed order. I had a bunch of them some had central spines. Easier than crucigera IMO. I live in Moorpark CA . North of you in Ventura co. I used to go to Abby Gardens That's the first nursery that I f...

Re: High proportion of cactus species threatened with extinc
There are many field collected Ariocarpus fissuratus for sale on Ebay, mounds of them in the pictures offered for sale. I hope CITES doesn't over react and ban all cacti sales because of the few who plunder the desert. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ariocarpus-Fissuratus-10-5B-GRADE-1-LIVING-ROCKS-22-PLANT...
