This plant popped up from seed last year and has been growing like mad. Its either a Delosperma or Phyllobolus. The stem is growing fat like a Phyllobolus. I thought is was maybe a hybrid, but I don't have any Delospermas that it could be related to, nor yellow flowered Phyllobolus. http://www.cacti...

This one has had many flowers this year, its a little more orange in color than the photo We have about 5 different varietes, but they suffer (and all other Epi's) bad during the summer, and some don't flower every year. Rainbow Gardens is still in business, and have the biggest selection of this type of thing. They do not do mail order anymore, supposedly. But I would give them a call, look in old CSSA Journals for there number. The Rainbow boys still sell at most shows. I went there 10 years ago, and they have a v...

These pictures show the orientation of the large seed at early growth (plant on right). The plant breaks out the right hand end of the seed, the other side of the seed was attached to the cone. I'm not sure if the is a up or down for the seed, but the root comes out one end the leaves the other. The...

Some of the monstrose growth are these white growth forms that are undifferentiated new growth. I call them carbuncles, sometimes they dry up and fall off, other times each little bump becomes a new head. http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/userpix/1486_IMG_2497_1.jpg http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/use...

One macro lens is all you need, it takes great photos of everything, plus close-up. My carmera is Canon EOS Rebel something, and it came with a 35-80 zoom, which is good for snapshots. I also have a 80-300 zoom that I never use. But I have been into Photograghy all my life and was raised on a Minolt...

I use ISI 800 and push the aperture down till the shutter is 300-80 for as much depth of field possible. ...
