In the end, I made a couple of "runways," boards on top of styrofoam boxes, so the plants will be off the floor and get a bit more sun. Now my sunroom looks a lot more spacious, and there's room to walk around :) http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii249/spoon99/Plants/IMG_1193SR.jpg Patien...

Have you noticed the irony of this thread? (Or did you do it on purpose?) Shouldn't it be moved to the "Free for All" section? Sometimes I really wish there was a "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" emoticon! Jawohl, Herren Harriet! It may not be strictly kosher, but it seems to make mor...

No, but now that you mention it, I can see the parallels...the self-obsession, the paranoia, the inability to relate to others....it's kind of a Rep-, err, repugnant point of view!

Cats can give you scratches, but pit bulls kill people.

'Nuff said :)

Gallows,
It was good fun. I could've sworn for the longest time that there was no cat in the pic, and that you were punking us :)

Hope you don't mind me posting the solution.

The most relaxing song ever created

The UK's Daily Mail says so, so it must be true: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2049948/Most-relaxing-song-UK-band-Boffins.html (Click through to hear the actual song, link is in the article) I just find the song boring, not relaxing. For me, if something is going to be truly relaxing, it h...

Systemics are really the only way to get bugs that hide as well as mealies and especially root mealies. I'm with Ian on this one. I tried for a couple of years using more environmentally friendly methods like horticultural oil, mechanical removal and alcohol sprays, but it was only after using imid...

Tristan,
The plant's drawing on its internal reserves (and it has a lot!), so planting shouldn't affect the flowers. Barring some disaster like high winds, or you stepping on it :) you're probably in for a nice display!

I wonder if it might be worth changing the name from "Member Topics." No disrespect meant to daiv, but that name is kind of vague, and could understandably lead to confusion if you don't read the "About the Member Topics Section" posts. Maybe something like "Member Journals&...

I guess I didn't explain myself well. Assuming we have a hard copy document and want the receiver to have an identical copy....look at the two cases, a document sent fax to fax, or a document scanned and sent via email. F2F: Fax machines have two functions (1) to scan and send a document and (2) to ...

Mike, I think there are some significant differences between your plant and the OP's, certainly in terms of spination. Your plant looks similar to mine, sold by Aridlands as E. h. noorsveldensis. Not that I'm saying it's that! I went through the IHSP, Jacobsen, and the 16 pages that The Succulent Eu...

I think it's because once scanned, it's easy to manipulate a document before emailing it, whereas intercepting and changing a document sent via fax is much harder. Also, the sender of an email can be easily faked. So fax-to-fax communications (assuming they are real fax machines and not virtual, com...
