Echeveria hybrids and full sun

Post by firelab »

I have two Echeveria hybrids I picked up at Tropic World about two years ago. One is E. 'Morning Glory' and the other is E. 'Fancy Ruffles'. In Riverside, Calif., they have been under 50% shade cloth, or more, but they have lately been getting full morning sun. Would they do well in my new Mexican cactus / plant bed in full, all day sun? or do they need shade during the summer?

thanks,
mjg

Most Echeveria hybrids tend to like a little more shade than the real species, who can take full sun. The species will develop nice colours when in the sun.
