Darryl, that's a Show-Stopper :!: :o I sure wish our plants could be looking like that when we enter them in shows. Timing is everything. That's one beautiful Echinocactus horizonthalonius plant and flower! Tony

Nice plant and flower!
I sowed them in may, 2 species from Mesa Garden.

is that the Arizona form called nicholii or the NM/TX form? The spines seem to stand out and be somewhat shaggy but young NM/TX plants can have that appearance as well.

The plant came out of a rock quary in Texas.
