Qu'est-ce que c'est -- what is it?

If you have a cactus plant and need help identifying it, this is the place to post it.

Qu'est-ce que c'est -- what is it?

I suggested in another forum that this might be a cristate/monstrose form of Austrocylindropuntia vestita and not a Consolea, but my suggestion was met with derision. Any idea what it might be?

If that is what I think it is, there is no ID for it. Looks like a plant I am going to buy and researching turned up nothing and I have been told several times there is no ID.

I bought a hand full of Opuntia orbiculata seedlings many years ago that looked like that. They lost their hair like spines as they matured. I have since given all the mature plants away.
Im not saying thats what it is, just suggesting that it could just be an opuntia seedling of some sort.
Forget the dog...Beware of the plants!!!

O. orbiculata was suggested as well, but since the pictured plant is over a foot tall, I'd guess that it's a cutting and not a seedling.
