It's producing offsets with twin heads?! Interesting mutant you've got there.

I think so Celticrose. I havent seen this on any of my other plants. first thought was they grew too close together and grafted themself. But with this one I dont believe thats the case.

That's pretty interesting..... I've seem Mammillarias do something similar.
A cactus and succulent collector who especially likes Ariocarpus. …Though I have a bit of everything! Want some pictures? See my flickr! I also do art and such.
Re: odd or not
Odd! A handful of Mammillaria species normally divide this way but it isn't normal for 99% of cacti. I have a Thelocactus that has done it.

Re: odd or not
I have had this happen 3 times I know of. My echinopsis made a baby offset that did that but I lost in the freeze and I have a cereus that did that I still have. I had an Opuntia do that but it had about 8 divisions and was cottony looking. It was growing fine but stupid me I cut it off and grafted it and the graft did not take and it died. So I did not get to enjoy an 8 headed opuntia.

Re: odd or not
the closet I have to that are those Opuntia pads that form from two or something and make a triangular pad that has three sides to it instead of two..
I can take a pic of one if you are confused lol.

Is that first one an Echinopsis? Looks almost like a Saguaro
All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti

Pic with the flower buds on it sure doesn't look like a sagauro.. I see what you guys mean tho.
(edit) the new spines are wrong they don't grow like that, but they sure do look similar.
