John nice updates, as you know I love Opuntia, and all of them are wonderful, even if they have glochids! :)

Thanks Aaron
I'm afraid I neglected to add photos this summer. I was very involved coordinating field trips for the local chapter of the Nevada Native Plant Society.

John,
the O. macrocentra you sent me a few years ago are getting huge :) All the rest are doing well, I think I lost one plant that you sent me other than the Grusonia... It was I think one of the O. polycantha hybrids.. but I dont remember off the top of my head.. :) Hope you had fun with your field trips, I am sure you have some wonderful native plants in Nevada. :)

Peter
Glad to here about the macrocentra. They do tend to pad up fast. Does the clone I gave you send up a second flush of new pads in the fall, like it does for me? They are usually some what tender and an early deep freeze will burn them. But it is of no great consern since the spring pads are well hardened off by mid summer. I can imagine that if they all survived every year it would be tripling in size every other year. 8-[

Here is a newer Poly hybrid I receaved last year. With the name 'Sevier Peach'

usually at the end of the long summer they have a short growth season in the fall before it gets too cold. I will check and see if they grew any more pads this year. They grow so fast.. :)

Nice O. polycanthas. :)
