Mojave, Joshua Tree, Organ Pipe 2013

Post by BarryRice »

Hey Folks,

The missus and I spent several days poking around the deserts of California and SW Arizona. I've posted the 160+ images on my own web site, if you want, follow this link: http://www.sarracenia.com/galleria/g352.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Mostly images of cacti, but a few other plants as well.

Don't be alarmed by the web site---it is a pseudo-art-museum that I drafted to house my photography. It pretends to be a snooty museum, but doesn't intend to fool. :roll:

Cheers

Barry
I'll grow it as long as it doesn't have glochids. Gaudy flowers a plus.

Great habitat shots Barry! Love the alversonii flowers. You could safely call the engelmannii "var. armatus" if you wanted.

A great trip, seeing some rare plants.

Great pics, Barry!

Hate to nitpick, but i believe JTNP is in San Bernardino Co.

That's a very unusual pink color for Cyl. ramosissima.

Hey Darryl,

Thanks!

Joshua Tree's north half is in San Bernardino County, but the southern part is Riverside County. Nearly all the JTNP photos I took were in the Riverside County portion.

Cheers

Opps, forgot it's split in 2. You are correct, sir! I think it also straddles the Colorado and Mojave Deserts.
