OK, I see lots of nice macro shots around here. Can anyone give me hints on a decent digital camera that has macro capabilities that doesn't cost more than my car??

I'd like to be able to photograph seedlings so that you can actually tell the plants from the perlite.

Thanks!

I use a Kodak Easyshare Z730. I believe you can get one for around $300. It has both fully auto modes and manual modes.

It takes decent close-ups

Yours is a question with _MANY_ answers.

I have several digital cameras and all of them together cost less then my car :)

But, if you are driving a used Yugo ... :o

Two great resources are available to start your search:

http://www.steves-digicams.com/best_cameras.html

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare.asp

Use of these will help you to identify basic needs/requirements and give good starting suggestions and comparisons.
