Another taxonomy question
Bought from Miles as "Stenocactus lloydii". No such species in Anderson, so I consulted our synonyms.com to get a cross-reference. It now appears that S. lloydii is S. multicostatus. However, my cactus looks nothing like any of the photos used to illustrate multicostatus. To me this suggests that I have a ssp or v which is not yet established. If it's any help, Miles' catalog states that an adult specimen will have large purple flowers. Can anyone help out? Thanks again for this one!
Catch a falling star--but don't try it with a cactus!
