toadstar's cactus
Re: toadstar's cactus
A little warm outside today but snow is forecasted for tomorrow. The christmas cactus knows what's up.

Re: toadstar's cactus
Sometimes the old favorites are still the best. I have 3 "holiday" cactus - one for Halloween, one around Thanksgiving & the old lady who will be blooming for another 2 weeks or so. Then the pale yellow T-Day one re-blooms the end of February. No idea why.
Re: toadstar's cactus

Some people really ought to pay more attention when they're flying.

Re: toadstar's cactus
A few bunny rabbits
Young golden barrels
Wild opuntia
Echinopsis
And this nice one from a mixed seed packet that I am not quite sure of but maybe a gymnocalycium ?

What to do when your cacti have grown so much over the summer that you've run out of room to put them inside for the winter? Have a cactus sale!

Re: toadstar's cactus
Maybe that cactus you don’t have an I’d for that came from a seed pack is an Echinopsis silvestrii (not chamaecereus) or e. Ancistrophora hmmm
Re: toadstar's cactus
It does seem to resemble the latter. It about doubled in size this summer into this nice somewhat torus shape. I'm hoping it's big enough to flower next year.
Re: toadstar's cactus
Some days my cacti get more mail than I do.

There are more cacti in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

That's a good question. It came from a mixed opuntia seed packet that contained:
And to further confuse the issue, two pads were planted into each pot which came from different parent plants in the batch of seed. The spines seem to be a bit different from one another.http://www.cactusstore.com/category_42/SEEDS-Cacti-O.htm wrote:Opuntia Species Seed Mix. (Prickly Pear).
