Thanks snarfie for your comment.
Yes the color of flower is not red enough.
The color should be dark-red.

The main job for grafted cacti is watering.
Scions will grow rapidly by a frequent watering but off-shoots also grow vigorously.
Since off-sets affect on the growing speed of scions, you have to cut off-sets off often.

I cut off-sets off in the morning.

Front: Finished cutting off
Back: Remained jobs

An other 2nd filial red flowering hanazono kabuto was in flower.
This one also 1 year old, sown seed on 10th October 2016.
Since the style is also red, it is a true red flower.
I have to wait showing the character of hanazono.

An other 2nd filial red flowering hanazono kabuto was in flower.
The scion is a nudum form by unknown reason.
As we know the flower color and the appearance of body are individual inheritance elements anyway.

Updated photos taken in this afternoon

Scions: Astrophytum asterias cv miracle kabuto and Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower

Successful result: Asterias and retusus are joined and are grafted together onto a Pereskiopsis as planned.

Failure: Although asterias and retusus are joined, retusus is only grafted onto a Pereskiopsis.

Hello Hana interesting idea grafting two seedlings onto Pereskiopsis. Are you trying to create chimeras? Or just wanting two on one graft

G'morning crispy224

I have tried to make a cactus jointed 2 different species.
I use young seedlings.

To see an early result, I graft them onto Pereskiopsis stocks.
I think I can see their flowers within 2 years.

I do not expect the forming of chimeras but I am not sure.

Some other species have been tried.
The photo is Onzuka and Sinkawa tama zouge grafted on 19th in this month.
