pachypodium lamerei black leaves
pachypodium lamerei black leaves
So my recently purchased P. lamerei has been growing leaves while it did not have any when I first purchased it. However, some leaves became black at the tips and some new growth seem to be black from the beginning. This has been discussed in previous topics posted by other members previously and some has suggested fungi, over/underwatering or lack of sun. I have been giving it full sun and watering it once weekly. I noticed that the top of the plant where the new leaves are seem to be secreting some sort of translucent milky and brownish liquid (nectar?) (see first photo) and I suspect that this secretion may be causing the blackened leaves (see second photo). Hopefully the pachy experts can chime in and solve this mystery once and for all!

Re: pachypodium lamerei black leaves
I would do the same thing like what you are doing now but be careful with rain. You can also try spraying it with fungicide

Re: pachypodium lamerei black leaves
Thanks for the suggestion Hendry. It was mostly kept indoors before I purchased it and there was a full week of consecutive rain after which I did not shelter it from. This might have caused the fungal attack. I will apply a fungicide and report back with the results. Fingers crossed.
